Welcome to Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples. The island of Capri is composed of two municipalities: Capri and Anacapri, each with their own administration and touch of regional rivalry. The latter is built on a high plateau, with staggering views of sheer cliffs from beautiful vantage points.
On the island there are no shortage of shops- both extremely expensive and touristic knick knack cheap.
The views are so breathtaking you can easily forget that there is shopping to be done and just stare in all at the surroundings.
The world famous square is called Piazza Umberto I or Piazzetta.
The Piazzetta has always been the center of life on the small island. In the past, it served as market where fish, vegetables and meat were all sold. In 1938 Raffaele Vuotto, placed a few tables outside his bar in the Piazzetta and from that moment on- the square became a meeting place for both locals and visitors whom had previously socialized at home or in the island’s hotels.
Today, Capri’s packed Piazzetta provides the perfect hunting ground for tourist, people watchers, and paparazzi hunting for rare sightings of celebrities.
One of the rare, beautiful, wonders of the world that you should definitely not miss out on!
